Dearest Father,

I just learned this morning that Paul telephoned to you last night. We were having company and eating dinner and he was up stairs and telephoned in the bedroom. We knew nothing about it. If we had I certainly would have spoken with you. Please don’t pay too much attention to his asking for stamps. He should not have done it, certainly should not have telephoned about them.
