Irving Jacob Friedman was born 29 Dec 1942 in Los Angeles, California to Libe Lipson and Solman Friedman. He was the youngest with one brother and three sisters. He had a photographic memory. He read the newspaper cover to cover, so he always had facts on hand. He was an expert at Trival Pursuit. He worked for the Friedman Bag Company as a courier, picking people up from airport and make deposits to the bank (he always brought them treats and treats to his doctors and nurses), drove a taxi and …He had his special table at restaurants that he liked, like “Patina”, the chef would bring him treats from other restaurants. He collected watches and clocks. Once he was moving to his own apartment and Annette took all the watches and put them in one place and the next day he put them all back. He was very sweet when he was young. His father would sing to him in Spanish and before Irving could talk he could repeat the songs back. He went to religious school rather than public school…the Jewish Day School. Finally in high school he went to Fairfax High School. He went to college for a short time, City College of Los Angeles. He was in the Air Force for a short time. He had a friend “Eddie” who lived at Highland when Libe died; he is the one who called Bea, and Bea called the paramedics. Eddie would drive Libe shopping.
He died 2 April 1994, in Los Angeles.
