David Gologorsky

David Gologorsky was born in Kopaigorod, July 15, 1893. He served as an officer in the Imperial Army. He married Polya Spector October 31, 1919 in Kopaigorod. According to family legend, he was arrested by the Communists and imprisoned. His wife Polya bribed the prison officials and he escaped.  They joined the Friedman clan on a ship to Vera Cruz and then overland to Hermosillo. Their daughter Ruth was born in Hermosillo on 9 October 1921.  They crossed the border into the US at Nogales, Arizona, on August 11, 1923.  David was naturalized in NYC on July 11, 1929.  He worked at the Friedman Bag Co.  According to his WWII Draft registration, he was 5 ft 3″ tall, 163 lbs, with blue eyes, dark complexion,  brown hair and a scar on his right wrist. He died of a heart attack in Los Angeles on Dec 25, 1945.

Samuel Trachtenberg was an uncle of Polya and Annie Lipton was an Aunt of Polya. They came from the same area near Kopaigorod.
