Ben Benioff was born 21 July, 1900 in New York City, the first son of Leo (Louis) Benioff and Nettie Kamarow Benioff. The family moved to Los Angeles in 1910. During World War I, the family was living at 2272 Baxter Street in Los Angeles.
Ben was of a medium build and height with brown hair and blue eyes. He served in World War II as a colonel in the Army Corps of Engineers. He worked on the Ledo Road, a supply route from India to Southern China.
After the war, Ben became a civil engineer.
He married Veda Marjorie Worrall in December of 1928. in San Bernadino, California. The couple had one daughter and two sons born 1935, 1937, and 1942.
Ben died 21 June, 1992 in Orange County, California. He is buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Wittier, Los Angeles, California.
